John Rohrer was born in Massachusetts in 1989. They are a non-binary visual artist, photographer and installation artist currently living and working in Berlin, Germany. From 2011 to 2021, John lived in Brooklyn, NY making their own work, while assisting for well-known artists such as Alfredo Jaar, and David LaChapelle. John’s fine art work deals with sensory experience, abstraction and perception. Their portraiture attempts to uplift prominent figures in both avant-garde music, art, queer and kink subcultures. Both their fine art and portrait works try to both inspire people while, providing a platform for those that inspire them. Creating alternate modes of perception are processes both shared by those who reveal them and those who experience them. We are not alone in forging the futures we wish to see. We forge them together, you and me.
